Systems Engineer

La Salle University seeks a Systems Engineer to help deliver and support high quality audio and video platforms across our campus. The engineer should have a strong desire for customer support and eagerness to learn and take on challenges in the IT academic world. The ideal candidate will be able to integrate with staff, faculty, and students handling day-to-day issues problems while maintaining excellent customer relations. Ability to be flexible in work times and short notice schedule changes to meet customer demands, proactive communication, and attention to detail are key.

The Systems Engineer, under the supervision of the Senior Engineer, is responsible for digital signage and audio-visual technology support and maintenance for all La Salle University campuses. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Senior Engineer in providing technology distribution, maintenance, and support.
  • Design, develop, and deploy informational media for digital signage.
  • Collaborate with other University teams on a variety of projects.
  • Establish and implement a workflow for maintaining systems for digital signage and various classroom and University technologies.
  • Assist in ongoing services planning, including research of other institutions’ facilities, and modeling based on broadly accepted best practices and needs of the La Salle community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years’ experience in a multimedia or audio-visual service position and a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in both computing and audio-visual equipment.
  • Proficiency on Macintosh and Windows operating systems is required and knowledge of Linux is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to convert file types.
  • Ability to be self-directed and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with supervisor to prioritize multiple projects in a fast changing environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, climb ladders, effectively use tools requiring high dexterity, and possess normal vision with correction.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including tuition remission.
